Hi.
A few days ago I bought a 4.73 Pro. Before I was playing and purchasing games on my old 5.05 Fat model. I am planning to jailbreak both of them, then sell the old one.
However I have come to an issue - transferring data between those consoles. I can't transfer data from Fat to Pro using the Ethernet cable because it requires me to log in to PSN, and with that - update it to the newest firmware. Do you know of any way to transfer my games and saves to Pro, without having to update the system, utilizing the upcoming jailbreak in some way? Will it be possible to also transfer my profiles, trophies and settings, just as if I was doing the transfer in the official way?
I know it is possible to download files from jailbroken PS4 utilizing it's FTP server, but I know all the save files are encrypted with a key unique to the account, so I would have to log in on that account on the Pro to make use of them, which, as far as I know, is not possible without updating the OFW.

You can currently do what youd like to

  • First of all, both consoles need to be on the same firmware, so go install 5.05 to your Pro first of all.
  • Then you need to backup your stuff on your FAT, so go to Settings, System, Backup and Restore.
  • Go to Backup and check all the boxes you wish to transfer (trophies cannot be backed up this way so you'll have to use FTP and stooged's DB_SG_Backup for that) and go ahead back all your stuff up (USB device required)
  • Then you'll just have to go to your Pro and apply the exploit. Then navigate to Settings, System, Backup and Restore and restore all your stuff. Be wary, all the data previously stored on your Pro model will be gone for good.
  • That's it, congratz!

Note: this method does not work for local user accounts that have never signed to PSN (not your case)
Bonus feature: If you had any video apps on your FAT ps4 such as youtube or Netflix, you'll have them working on your PS4 Pro that had never signed online before! cool, aint it?

so why it is so a big problem with offline profiles to backup and restore without psn?

Sony encrypting stuff for the sake of security, they dont want no trouble with people messing around with their data offline, better sign into PSN so they can look after you and keep you safe. It also works as an anti-cheat measure.
GT Sports takes this one step further and requires you to log online to even save your in-game progress. They dont want nobody fiddling with their cars and their sponsors' intelectual propierty, oh no no.

i thought if we have kernel access there is some function were we can use of the ps4 system to decrypt it by the system itself

Can I do that with my FAT old one (5.53-1) firmware and new Pro (5.05)? I know you mentioned that both devices have to have the same firmware version but I looking for any hope. I'm dying to get remote play working on my new Pro one.

@mas0h I dont think you can, but feel free to try it out for yourself if you're feeling adventurous.

I backed up my FAT successfully, but when I tried to restore the Pro, It asked me to update to the latest firmware.

@mas0h I guess I forgot to add that you need to apply the exploit so it doesnt ask for PSN connection (Al-Azif's DNS work for this like a charm, maybe other method works too)

edit: aight, I edited my last comment to add this bit.
edit 2: wait, are you using a a backup from 5.53 to restore it on 5.05? Well, if that's the case, then I guess it doesnt work and that answers your previous question.
