[Solved] A Problem with Database rebuilding 9.00

They actually never popped up. On the home screen I just waited till the icon went away then went in library and was like. Thank God they're back. MY PRECIOUS'S lol

ah ok i think it depends on how it's set up. like if you don't limit the icons right? if i remember if you wait at like the end of the list they just like appear. it's weird. but that's interesting haha, my precious lol i am rolling!

Yeah I wish I could limit it more it frustrates me that I have 10icons on there lol

At least I could provide a chuckle for you as payment for helping me with this lol

I was not wrong, my problem was the "internal" HDD.
totally agree to disagree read your comment to him totally had nothing to do with fixing lads problem basically blind leading the blind there…

Interesting Id like to clear my ps4 of junk & re initialise firmware 9.0. As the majority of my games are stored external drive will they re appear after jailbreaking and plugging in my usb drive? This is something I've considered doing but with a large catalogue of games it would break me if they did not reappear and all my game installs were lost, thoughts

@seanp2500 @internal This thread is VERY helpful. Will save this in my bookmarks and make it a text file in my PS4 files folder. I don't have 900+ games but I may when time allows lol.

@seanp2500 or anyone

Question: Which is the safer way to install a large game library on an external hard drive. App2usb or the official Sony extended storage?

well it's not like sex right? You don't put a condom on and you can't catch an std right? I imagine it's just poor English. But "safe" would not be a word to use to talk about it right?

I talk about it a lot on my channel. Basically the rookie mistake most people make is they dl fpkg like crazy and they don't back them up. So when what happens (like in this thread) people panic! What I did instead was if the worst case scenario happened i backed up my files. That's the only "safe" way to have a large game library. One bummer about app2usb is that if you have a large collection and the sony internal hd fails you got to run new app2usb jobs and wait for the linkage files to be remade. But if you sat and thought about it no big deal really. Just wasted time. This kinda stuff is what inspired the whole "So you want to be a jailbreaker?" joke on my channel. But sean you mean if I dl 20tb of pkg I should keep all that data? Well yeah. At any point you could have a database rebuild or equipment failure. It doesn't hurt having sony ps4 backups but once you get larger you will find backing up the sony file system is not so simple. It also only "works" for internal storage and external storage held games. You can't back up the app2usb files using the sony backup system to a new internal hd. Let's say if you were backing up 9tb (1tb internal 8tb extended) you would need at least a 10tb drive to make a proper backup. It would take several hours. At that point you are better off just keeping a copy of the fpkgs somewhere (in terms of time). The problem of large data. This is why I bought the monolith...unnamed.jpg

You are exactly right. I keep copies of my fpkgs I have installed in my PS4 and want to get them all organized and archived. Can you link your YouTube channel?

cool. I posted a vid in this thread. i go by grabman on yt. What I do is I name my games title name cusa name and version using PS4.PKG.Tool I then place updates in updates base pkg in a folder I call pkg and dlc in seperate folders in a folder I call dlc. I show this organization on my channel in the monolith video. it is very powerful naming things this way. I can quickly find games using alphabetical order. it's a bit tedious. but PS4.PKG.Tool helped me a lot!
