Well... I did something really dumb with app2usb and Package Installer.

I copied over an entire external HD that I had filled with app2usb (games/patches/dlc) onto a new external drive.

I then began installing the games in the PS folder (which I renamed PSX) onto another PS4 after dragging them onto the root directory and using the package installer, and using app2usb to transfer them to the external.

However... and this is where I messed up... I then tried to install all the updates from the same copied drive but before I had copied over all of the games and these updates (some really big ones) seemed to vanish into my internal drive somewhere, as even with app2usb they are not anywhere to be found on the external.

My internal is almost full with all these damn updates, which is a real pain.

Where would they be in the drive if I use PS4 Explorer?

Or is there another solution here?

Running 5.05 and Hen 2.1

Please help!

app2usb is properly configured BTW

To disable the processing of icons/art and sound uncomment the line below.
//DISABLE_META

To leave game updates on the internal drive uncomment the line below.
//IGNORE_UPDATES

To move DLC to the usb hdd uncomment the line below.
MOVE_DLC

To use this list as a list of games you want to move not ignore then uncomment the line below.
//MODE_MOVE

Also, when I re: DL the patches and install they don't seem to be updating the games... or they tell me that the update is already installed, but it's not.

Are they getting stuck somewhere on the internal drive?

are you aware that app2 usb is useless? the official storage extension works fine. for your problem the only solution is to format the PS4 and reinstall everything. the concern comes from the database which no longer finds the games although they are in the PS4.

Please excuse my ignorance here, I thought that the standard storage extension only allowed you to use official PKG files, but I guess that's not the case?

If you could please direct me to any kind of tutorial on this I would be most appreciative.

you just have to connect an external hard drive (usb 3.0 imperatively)
and format it via the console in extended storage. you can then choose the place where you want to install. you can pass a game from the system to the hard drive and vice versa. The fpkgs installs no worries, and you can play games directly from your hard drive.

So formatting through the normal console, and then using the usual PKG installer through Debug settings? And it will write to the external as it's installing from the same drive?

And it works with Hen 2.1?

Yes works with every hen no problem.
You have to choose where you want to install your games via storage settings.
You install fpkg with another usb device than your extended storage.

HAW CAN I TAKE A BACKUP LINKED GAMES FROM INTERNAL PS4 TO RESTORE AT ANY TIME IN CASE OF SYSTEM ERROR AND DELETE MY SHORTCUT COLLECTION LINKED GAME TO AVOID RE INSTALL ALL THE GAME AND USE APP2USB
