PS4 RiPKiT/Modding/Cheat Tool By RiPPERD

ripkit.jpg

This is now fully working!
PLEASE SEE POST #2 FOR REGULAR UPDATED INFO/REQUESTS
**PLEASE ALL USERS SEE POST 2**

New Info Update After V1.5

Usages of this tool:
The main reason for this tool is to make RipKits (smaller game files with things riped out) this is usually language files, videos etc.
However another use is users that dont know how to modify games, add cheats/mod menus, files etc now can... so with the devs/modders posting their patch files made by this tool you will be able to just click a buttom and enjoy modded games... This could be Loads of ammo... Infinite Health... Debug menus etc via either modded eboot.bin file or modded game files.

PLEASE NOTE: Compressing/Making patch file may take a long time depending on your specs!
The app CANNOT crash so just wait!
Decompressing/Applying patch will be a LOT faster than making the patches!
Again the app CANNOT crash!

What does this tool do?
Its an AIO patcher to release a patch file instead of users downloading whole games again.
Back in the PSP and PS3 days this is how RipKits were made... ive made it slightly different now due to windows 10 and other requirements that only work on older versions.

Basic tutorial

FOR DEVS
(Devs are needed to make the patches)
Download my app
Place the game PKG file into the directory of this app and rename it to original.pkg
make a copy of the game in same folder and rename it to ripped.pkg
open up the modded pkg game file with other ps4 tools
make any changes to the game (remove languages, add cheats etc)
repack the ripped pkg file with your usual tools
now run the tool with both files in same folder
click MAKE PATCH
wait... may take while on larger games

you will now have a "patch.RiPPERD" file and a "ripped.gp4" file
these are the files you share with others
These files are now much smaller than previous versions

FOR END USERS
Download my app and the required "patch.RiPPERD" and "ripped.gp4" file for your game
Place game PKG file, "patch.RiPPERD" and "ripped.gp4" into my app folder
rename game pkg to "original.pkg"
now run the tool with both files in same folder
click APPLY PATCH
wait... may take while on larger games
now you will have a ripped pkg with the original file name pkg
copy to usb/ps4
Enjoy!

NOTES: files must be called the exact as i typed so...
original.pkg ripped.pkg patch.RiPPERD ripped.gp4
ALL CASE SENSITIVE!

THIS POST WILL BE USED FOR IMPORTANT INFO/UPDATE/REQUESTS
REQUEST: what im looking for now is modders/cheaters to use modded eboot.bin files or whatever is used for cheats now so this can be used for applying cheats directly to the game. this way you wont need a computer/laptop to apply cheats that just crash the game... with little to no support when things dont work correctly.

INFO: This tool will need a name change really as it does a lot more than just ripkits...
ripkit (remove files not needed making smaller)
update/patcher (when applicable)
cheat patcher (if/when this can be done)
trademarking your releases (i will teach how to do this via PM as dont want public yet)
maybe more....

UPDATED to the long awaited V1.5 - Much better now smaller patch files to share and patch games
Started a Discord Channel upon request - https://discord.gg/devyCPJ

ATTENTION: ** Custom Patches Being Added To First Post **

FAQ
Some from other users

tbh i alrady saw your post , but i am to dumb to understand it. i just dont know what a patch.RiPPERD file and a "ripped.gp4" is and where a to find that =/

lol why didnt you ask in the thread?
patch.RiPPERD - this is a file my tool makes to keep the patches/changes in place and encrypted if you look at bottom spoiler for post #1 it has a patch for dead rising 2 mega mod that i made for ps3 i ported it to ps4. download this and my tool (if you have the game) then copy the patch files to the tool directory, now copy the game pkg to same folder and rename it to original.pkg run my tool click apply ripkit... enjoy!

the patch.RiPPERD files are created by modders/cheaters from a modded pkg file it works like this
ORIGINAL.PKG - this is the original file with no mods (downloaded fpkg)
RIPPED.PKG - this is the modded pkg (fpkg) that the modder has created using other tools for extracting, editing then repacking

now you copy these files to my app directory (MUST COPY TO MY APP FOLDER)
run my tool and click MAKE RIPKIT
now wait a while depending on spec of computer and game size (the app CANT crash so if it takes ages... it just does, update your hardware lol)
now you will be left with 2 new files!
patch.RiPPERD
&
ripped.gp4

you now share these 2 files inside my app folder (again must be my folder only)
and the end user will now do this

download the tool + patch files
copy game to app direcotry (MUST BE THIS WAY)
run the tool
click APPLY RIPKIT
wait some time depending on game size and pc spec

now they will have a new PKG file with the FULL original name the game was called so CUSA0000-V1.00 etc in PKG format ready to install!

this tool was originally made JUST for ripkits!
but due to the limited access of ps4 at this stage the way i made these ripkit tools for PSP and PS3 didnt work with PS4!
so i had to remake it and recode some stuff and this was only way it could be done
but by doing it this way it opened it up to doing a lot more stuff like modding game files, adding cheats, branding... maybe more but thats as far as my ps4 knowledge goes lol.

it works, but u need to repack update file with fake pkg generator then
some sources already have game updates in... so wont be needed.
the ones that dont contain updates im pretty sure if the person making the patch file adds the update to PKG before making the RIPPED file then uses my tool to make patch then my tool will auto add the update to end users

any modded files, added files, removed files etc will be matched in the ripped.pkg

Did you used to make these for psp/ps3 your name seem familiar to me ?
yes i did mate! **SOAKS UP THE FAME** LOL

myself, SKIROCKET and COZY over at pspripkits.com and ps3ripkits.com they seem to have gone now and cant get hold of skirocket via email anymore

the psp and ps3 ripkits were a LOT easier to make... this is a work in progress i will continue to add features and keep it updated.
if anyone else thinks they can help out in any of the following ways then get in touch

Programming/Coding (VB etc, XDELTA, HIGH COMPRESSION SOFTWARE)
Testing (my fast laptop has a dodgy screen cable so is unusable and my current laptop is slow so takes me ages)
Will add more help if needed :)

you don't understand, if you make a rip, update won't work with it until you repack it again, and duxa's repackager won't work
the only way is to use fake pkg generator to make update work with the rip

i was using fake pkg gen anyway lol
so the way around this would be to get original.pkg
get the update pkg
repack the update into it
now doing the ripkit stuff (remove languages, make mods etc)
use my tool
share the patch file

end user would now have:
original.pkg from where ever
the patch file
use the tool as normal
any files that have changed would now be applied!

this way you can not only make it a ripkit... but also an updater!

maybe, but I now I can't check it out

thats fine mate loking for other testers to go in the credits :)

i have not actually added any updates to a game yet as didnt see the point... i will look into it and test it out

my main consern is the size of these patch files there is definitly a way to make them smaller... the psp and ps3 ripkits were like 5mb MAX! and thats including the apps too

that's why I doubted, cause if a game woul be 30gb for example, couldn't a patch.ripperd be 15gb or something?
and making autoripper is quiet difficult issue I think

EDIT: BLANK TEXT FILES DIDNT WORK

im also going to try something else.... im going to try different variables so instead of copying the file it ADDS/REPLACES files in the PKG
this way the patches should be a lot smaller...
Im not sure what is going on as i must be missing something from back when psp and ps3 ripkits were done... my memory aint great lol.

i may have to download a psp game and test this out

right i have tried other compressors with no luck... it seems that PKG files canot be highly compressed with ANY tool including ARC compressors.... i think ps3 used to be ISO format which could be why compress was so high.

i will download a psp game and try my tool on that see what results i get.

for now though the patch files will be rather big.... i will also test using it as a patcher to add/remove/replace files from a PKG file this may help make the patches smaller.... this will not be a quick thing though.

just updated tool to V1.3 this contains some code cleanup and gui changes

@Alx_2004 i have found a way around the huge patch sizes... my 369mb patch file is down to 7mb on first attempt
this is big news for this now.
i have also contacted the creator of 1 of the tools already out there to make the whole process automatic for end user.

I am sure there where a lot of dummy files in psp/ps3 from what i can remember.
But that was years ago and not really my thing i was more beta testing and helping jason ect..
I used to help out on a few things back in the day thats why i thought i recognized your name from the days maxconsole was a good site.

V1.5 coming soon
NEW FEATURES:
-More GUI changes including a better tutorial in the ABOUT section

-Code changes/added new code for other features/fixed few things

-Massive rewrite to compression - the process has now been changed so it can make much smaller patch files... however this has come at a slight cost for those on lower spec machines... the process now is as follows
my app extracts the original.pkg file (or both O and ripped pkg files in devs case)
then makes a patch on extracted files
then repacks the game with modded files etc

this has made a huge size difference from 369mb patch file to 7mb
this was on a small game (400mb) i will test on a bigger game soon which should actually be better as bigger games will have more to rip out... other languages, credits, movies in another language etc... also 4k/3d stuff for those that dont want all that stuff either resulting in smaller mods and patches

think I need to create another one ripkit, but small size to test
