I have jailbroken PS4 that is on the 5.05 version. Yesterday the power cut out while i was using my console and now when i boot it up it automatically boots up in to safe mode and asks me to connect the controller via a usb cable and after that it asks me to connect a USB storage device containing the 5.05 update or later and also gives me the option to download it from Sony. Does anyone have an idea how it happened and how i can workaround it? Don't want to lose my jailbreak

just reinstall the 5.05 update

Yep, you'll lose everything :(
damn it! i am away from the console that's experiencing this issue. I'll mail him over the recovery update file but should i at least attempt to fix it with a normal update first and see if it works? Also, in regard to the recovery update would it ask for a mandatory internet connection upon boot?

Yep, I told you on another post, try the update first, it might just work out, also I don't think that it'll ask for any internet connection.

Had it ask me to do this a few days ago. I just turned the ps4 off and restarted. Had no issue.

It happened when I tried to install a PKG from a bad drive thumb-drive.

Hopefully you'll get as lucky as I did.

Thanks for the input guys. Will try flashing firmware first to see if it works but haven't found the time yet. Will update once done.
