Older games won't work

I don't have any problem with the recent releases but when I try to play the 'older' games like Trials of Mana, Dark Souls, Beholder 2 I get an error saying that 'Could not start the software'. Is this beacause of a sigpatch issue? Even though I'm always getting the updates for the titles I install.

Btw, I only download my games from here and use the sigpatches from sdsetup.com. Oh, also using atmosphere.

what firmware are you on and are you using Atmosphere ? what version? what installer ? and what version?>
what sigpatches are you using ? the hekate ones (I see that you got the files from SDsetup. those are the hekate sigpatches.) ? or the atmosphere vanilla?
are you using that piece of garbage discontinued NeutOS sigpatches ?

I have made this guide for a clean "nothing-to-worry-about" installation. clean vanilla sigpatches included.

go take a look at my guide and get the atmopshere folder with working sigpatches. i tested them on firmware 9.1.0 9.2.0 and 10.0.2 confirmed working by me.

AMS 0.12

Well about the sigpatches, tbh I don't know the version of it. Is there any were I can check them?

but as my console is already banned, I can just try what ever I without any kind of worry lol. I'll have a go of your guide and let you update if that's works. I have feeling that it might turn out allright.

Here you can follow this guide. (works also on Atmosphere 0.12.0)
i just had the same issue as you and it's working now using this.

Hey all, thanks for your help. Finally managed to get it worked out. But i have to admit I've gone both of your suggestions (except I didn't downgrade my device's fw) and also even I tried some other videos from that dude. I'm really amazed that you could solve your issue. The links and stuff that he's talking about is all either missing or outdated and not reliable at all. Normally I never check out youtube for such cases but it kinda helped me to figure out what I was missing.

Turns out yeah it was sigpathes. I was using Hekate and it was messing up at something I suppose. So this time I went for a clean installs from their own github repo of Atmo. And sigpatches from HarukoNX again from github repo. Turns out everything worked fine. Also the tesla overlay was working terrible with hekate and I was assuming that how it's supposed to work. In fact with vanilla atmo, it's fluid as nintento's native UI! Everything runs smoothly. Even some cheats weren't working on Hekate now all of them work (and the games as well)

I bet I messed up at something and got baned because of the wonky settings of it :/

One thing about the switch homebrew scene I noticed, there's like a great tension from developers. Which I can relate. Answering the same question over and over might be extremely overwhelming. I mean no one is forcing them to do such thing. -Except atmo- most of the documentation of the scene is terrible and explains literally nothing. so why are they salty tho xD Just my two cents. Don't get me wrong, not complaining at all.

After all, this is like paying the price for being cheap lol.

yes there is tension DRAMA in the community.
In the guide i sent you. its all stock atmosphere. NO extra sysmodules no hekate. i love hekate. but drama and stupid fights between scenes took a toll on atlasnx.
Hekate is broken since 9.x.x and it got worse in 10.x.x too many problems for little reward.

clean vanilla atmosphere is the safest most reliable way to get stuff working.
