My firmware ver was 6.2.0. but i accidentally updated my ver to 8.0.1 when i was using ftp.
still games are working. but i am worried.

can i go back my older firmware?
should i even go back to my older version?
which firmware is correct at this time ?

you are fine, but try not to update firmware using Nintendo updater or updating from settings. I also had my switch updated by accident, my nephew got my switch banned =[. This can burn your switch fuses I believe

If you want to go back to a lower firmware you need to use choidujournx. You can find that by searching on google. You can also use this to update your switch to a higher firmware. You will also need to find the exact firmware you want which you can also find on google. There are tutorials on youtube if you need some help with the process on how to use choidujournx.

Any firmware is fine as long as your cfw supports it. I use hekate and they support 8.0.1 firmware.

so my switch's fuses burned now? because when we start game, game tells you that new update available..i accidentally select update game and after that switch restart two time may be.. and switch was updated.

yes, if you update without using something like choidujournx then the fuse will burn. You're fine if you use some of them but it's better if you try to not burn up all your fuses, or your switch will become unplayable once all the fuses have been burned.

There's a way to check how much fuse you have left. If you are on hekate, in the safemenu there should be a menu that shows how much fuses you have left.

I would recommend putting your switch on airplane mode to not see any update pop up. I only turn off airplane mode when I'm on something that uses wifi like youtube on my switch.

if you use atmosphere read this
1) download the firmware you want and put it in a folder on the root of you SD card (google nintendo switch firmware and ChoidujourNX and you not should have problems finding them )

2) download the latest version of ChoidujourNX put it on the root of you SD card ( I personally recommend 6.2.0 as it has been the most stable for me but 7.0.1 is also good. )

3) turn on your nintendo switch, access the homebrew menu, open up ChoidujourNX
4)you are going to see a bunch of folders,. select the one with the firmware you downloaded and press the "choose" button
5) select the exfat version if you want exfat support , let it load and then click on :select firmware: then click on "start installation: when finished click reboot ( If you install Big games over 4 GB directly from your sd card I recommend exFat. if you use emulators such as retroarch DO NOT use exfat as it will corrupt your sd card )
6) boot using RCM method like you always do
and you should be done.

i cant post links to external webpages since its against the site rules and i cant upload the files because i dont know what firmware you want

Hi . I just chacked my burned fuses numbers..
this is what i saw.
Number of Burned Anti-Downgrade Fuses: 9 (raw value:0x000001FF).

Can you tell me can i go back to ver 6.2.0 or 7.0.1 by using ChoidujourNX withought burning any fuse?
How many total fuses exist in switch ?
thank you.

I highly recommend you download 6.2.0 as it is the most stable version ( its the one i am using and all games just work )
here is a link for 6.2.0 oficial firmware https://mega.nz/#!9F5XFabb!UdZmY8qpMbDuo-rrn0jI-JCpXrTWKoshKhClZ_H7tkA
you can install any firmware using ChoidujourNX

as far as never games download from the uploader @African he does an amazing job at making games that require higher firmware work on 6.2.0

PS dont get me wrong every single uploader has been approved by the administrator and they are all legit. inactive uploaders, semi activie and very active uploaders are all amazing from this website )

no need to go back, homebrew community will come up to date and support for 8.x.x by the time more games come out

If you have burnt your efuses you can't downgrade if you updated via nintendo servers.
The whole point of fuses is to prevent downgrading when they are burnt when updating FW.

7.0.0 - 8.0.1 requires 9 burnt fuses.
6.2.0 Requires 8 burnt fuses.

You have already confirmed you have 9 burnt fuses therefore you can not downgrade to 6.2.0.

Quote from switch homebrew guide: " When you update your system firmware version, your Nintendo Switch burns a microscopic fuse to prevent your Switch from being able to downgrade. Essentially, if a firmware tries to boot but too many fuses are burnt for that specific firmware version, the system will simply power off, preventing you from booting."

My advice is to update to 8.1.0 via ChoiDuJour & install autorcm to prevent burning fuses. Everything works as intended on latest FW.

so i cant downgrade my switch. This is bad news for me. i was thinking to go back 6.2.0.
I think 8.1.0 is latest firmware i dont think my game gonna work if i update..
how to install autorcm ? ChoiDuJour have this option to install autorcm ?

If you update using ChoiDuJour it will automatically go into rcm mode after installing your FW. Just make sure you select the option to install with exfat. If you use Auto rcm mode then your switch will bypass fuse check for current fw preventing fuses being burnt. I can still go back to 4.1.0.

you last post was you were on 8.0.1 . Stay there DO NOt update any more. do not update to official firmware nor to CFW 8.1.0
the lower the firmware you stay the better.
atmosphere released a couple of days ago support for 8.1.0 and sigpatches are out I have been testing it out in my spare time and aside from apps not updated to run and a few re starts i havent had issues ... that being said you are fine with 8.0.1 for the rest of the year

you might be confused about your games not running: all never and old games should be able to work on 8.0.1
Why do you want to go back to 6.2.0 so bad ??? (specially now that you cant downgrade)

PS autoRCM is automatically checked at the moment you update with ChoiDuJour. if it is not , simply reinstall CFW again like you did last time and make sure it is checked before installing

I just want to say is better to be on firmware 7.x or 8.0.1 your current firmware most upcoming games/updates are firmware 8.1.0/9.x (SDK 7.4.0) and can only be patched for firmware 7.x.
Super Mario Maker 2 is SDK 7.4.0 it can only be patched for firmware 7.x
If you lanch the game on firmware 6.2 you will get (software was closed error)

there you have it from the master himself. stay on 8.0.1 no need for 6.2.0 anymore
