Tutorial How to update to firmware 10.2.0 without burning efuses.

This tutorial is for Atmosphere ONLY. I no longer have an sx os pro license (if any of you want to gift me one for testing and guides purposes shoot me a message inbox )


In this tutorial i will show you how to update atmosphere to the latest ver. without burning fuses. I also made an allinonepackage. ( it contains everything you will need. i.e {sigpatches,fuseeprimary, hekate bootloader. } so there is no need for you to break your head looking for a working one)

this tutorial will be made with the safest method possible. Daybreak.nro i will NO longer user ChoidjourNX. in other words the file you will download will only be compatible with daybreak.

make sure you uninstall any themes you might have installed with themeinstallerNX BEFORE proceeding ahead. if you havent installed any themes go ahead without worries.
( optional but if you want to back up your old atmosphere files do so as well)

Yes. great job by atmosphere devs keeping up with firmware updates.
I also find that homebrew devs are awesome at updating their apps right away.
so no need to stay at a lower firmware any more. I bet new wave of games will require 10.2.0 anyway so everything adds up in the end

Thanks for the tutorial dorian. I followed your guide and wasn't able to run any games that use sigpatches. I found them online for AMS 14.4 FW 10.2.0 and there were files either missing from the allinone package or with different sizes. I replaced the sigpatches with those and all my games work again. Just a heads up, but thanks for the guide.

Since I ended up installing Atmosphere 14.4 and sigpatches from fresh downloads myself, I'd like to ask one thing. Is there a way to open the old boot menu manually, just once, in case I want to restore/make a backup?

Also, thanks for the tip about Daybreak. I hadn't heard about it, but ChoiDujourNX had been getting on in age.

Inside the allinone package folder you downloaded is a folder called Bootloader/ Payload there is file called hekate_ctcaer_5.3.3.bin. Make sure your switch is on RCM then Open tegra RCMGUI and send it

in case you made the mistake to just replacing old sigpatches with new ones in the atmosphere folder.

go ahead and download this file (these are original sigpatches. extract the files and copy them to the atmosphere folder in your SD card (if asked to replace click YES)

if a game says its corrupted due to old sigpatches
go to settings > data management> manage software > (tap on the game that show error) then choose "check for corrupt data" let it do its thing and then exit out of settings and run the game. it should work

then Sept file, Bootloader and atmosphere files are completly empty.
any idea what went wrong?

Make sure to delete the old Sept bootloader and atmosphere off your SD card, after that drag the files from the zip that dorian provides.
Don't drag them across and select replace, this can sometimes cause issues.

Hi, Just follow Dorians instructions... It's all laid out for you step by step. Start by downloading the required files (in the tutorial)
Then... Follow the steps.
Don't be nervous, you won't go wrong. It's a very thorough tutorial.

Tnx, but like blakmass I am already on 10.2.0, and thought there is a new tutorial like this available with all the steps for newest FW and ams.

When I plug in the Switch to my PC, Tegra still shows "NO RCM".
What did I miss? I followed all the previous steps.

Edit-
I managed to inject the payload, but now the Switch screen just stays black, even after I get the message from Tegra that the payload was injected successfully.

Yes you're right, but you have the screenshots below, download them and you'll figure out the correct order.
