I think many people have bought Metro Exodus game key from Steam before it released on Epic .Official notice came out too late that caused many people complain this.
A lot of people have solid library and friend groups around steam. So having a game exclusively on one platform is inconvenient and annoying.
Everything becomes cookie cutter copy and paste levels/maps, etc. you can see it with the "extra Content". Games become grinds and less fun, in my opinion.
Generally speaking exclusives are almost always bad for gamers, and sour relationships with brands. The epic store does not have the same features as steam GOG or even origin. You going to really want that game just to play it.
It also doesn’t reflect well on Epic for sniping releases in this way
