I apologize if this has been covered somewhere but I've been googling for a bit here and still not found the answer. My ps4 turned off while trying to install Linux last night. I turned off and refused to get past BLOD (not the first time it happened) so I leave it unplugged for awhile. Boot into safe mode and then rebuild the database.... Every single game is gone but they're still taking up space on the hard drive. What can I do about this? Does anyone have a suggestion?

Update: Little Big Planet 3 is a legit game and it still shows up. Everything else is gone but still using the space... Can I ftp the game's out and rebuild the fake packages somehow?

Update 2: I found some info on psxhax and apparently this is a common issue.

run the hen payload and then run the ftp payload. This is fixable... ONLY if you have backed up your app.db prior. I'll update additional finding's but I hope this helps at least 1 person.

ftp into /system_data/priv/mms/
and copy app.db to your computer.

you can take addcont.db if you like that holds stuff like extra seasons of games.

Note: when you install new games you will need to backup app.db again so it includes those new games too.

to restore broken database:

run the hen payload and then run the ftp payload.

ftp into /system_data/priv/mms/

upload your saved app.db from your computer to that directory overwriting the app.db inside the ps4

power off the ps4 as you normally would then boot it back up and see if it has changed.

SOLVED: /user/app < this is where your games are installed. If you FTP in you can see the directory structure. From each folder copy the App.pkg to a usb source and then install over the existing file. 100% working without having to redownload, rebuild or anything else.

Hi, when I did a database rebuild because I messed up trying to install linux, PS4 advised me that the games I already installed were still there but not on main screen. Do you know when you re-install your games, do they over write existing fkpg or just take up more space on you internal hdd. Interesting if you could delete the old game completely via FTP, and start again?

They are over written as the package will maintain the same directory structure and file names.
