Hi all, didn't see a post with an answer to this. If I have a 2tb 3.5 drove is it possible to use it as an external HDD if I buy a usb 3.0 enclosure? It's for a non jailbroken PS4, my jailbroken one has a 2tb internal by way of a data bank extender. But I don't want to go down that route for this one. Thanks

Anyone??? People are even replying to threads of people asking can they play rdr2 on 5.05 but not genuine threads like this

Of course you can do that. All the external HDDs are literally normal internal ones + enclosure and SATA to USB controller. That's all there is behind them.

Thanks fir the reply, i just wasnt sure if the hardware etc... was different in new usb 3.0 drives.

thanks

Not really. If your drive is 3.5" you need to get a case with external power connector as USB ports don't provide enough power to get the big HDDs spinning. If it is a 2.5" HDD you can simply get a good USB 3.0 enclosure for under $15 USD. Given you said the HDD is 2 TB it probably isn't a IDE HDD anyway. So really any USB 3.0 HDD enclosure with SATA to USB adapter should work.

Yes it's a 3.5 so I'll be getting a powered caddy for it, depending on the price I may just buy a new HDD it's just because I had this practically new drove sitting around doing nothing
