Can you use ps4 remote play?

You can use remote play if your using a PSN activated PS4 and corresponding account (on the PS4 and PSVita for instance) I believe

You cant sign in without updating 
- If it trys updating then likely you cant - whatever the requirements are you must be missing some.
If you have an activated PS4 with the same PSN account that was activated on it you should be able to remote play (I cant, so I couldn't even begin to talk you through it) but my understanding it that it all has to be the same (try initating the remote play from the other device ?)

I was able to until last week, and now it throws an error when trying to connect. My guess is because network services are disabled until the ps4 is updated to the newest firmware. It is a shame because I use remote play wtih my Vita about 90 percent of the time.
