Can we update games without updateing firmware?

Hey!

I currently have no internet at home so I cant check.
Is it possible to update the game version (game is installed from disk or backup) without a PSN connection ? (= not on the latest firmware)

Yeah, I think so.
You can install updates for retail games (Original Disk or PSN) from here https://ps4database.io/search search for the game and select the right Title ID (CUSAXXXXX) and you can see a red button (old version) select any version and see if it require 5.05 or lower, the last update might even require FW<5.05.
and for backed-up games (Fake PKG) you can search this forum for updates and install them after installing the main game.
