Hello Guys,

Since 2 days i moved from SX to AMS, i really liked the simple easy software which was for me the biggest Plus. Stored my Stuff on External HDD and some other installed.

I had the Idea to now with AMS put my External HDD attahed to my NAS Drive and use Tinfoil to Install games over SMB Share.
This was not working for me, i was able to connect, i saw all the games, but the most i could not install - Always got an Network Error 7 ; Code = 0.
Here i was not able to found something through google.

Afterwars i thought i could try an FTP, but here i saw also everything but i could not install, i was only able to start, which was for sure not really working.

What do you guys think, whats the best / working software combination to install to the Switch files from my NAS Server.

Thank you very much,

Regards,

In order to keep this noob friendly I will share my bestest best mostest easy way. later on if you want you can move to a more complicated way. (FTP) (network, opening ports )

the easiest way is to install games using USB cable. its fast, its reliable and it just works every single time

PS. I intentionally assumed you are good since you tried the network one first. if anything was complicated i can do a more noob friendly approach as to how to do this.
I also made a guide.

Thank you for your really awesome tutorial. :)

I readed about NS-USBloader and Goldleaf already (also used Goldleaf and Awooinstaller for testing purpose.. :P).

But this is not really what im looking for, i dont want to connect the Switch with USB to the PC, i really would like to do it over lan / wlan.

If you connect it to the PC then Tinfoil 13.0 is already really good (in my noob eyes :P) as you can copy your files over the network to Switch "Installation folder" and they will get installed on the fly. This is what i would call noob friendly hehehe.

But for sure if everything else dont work in the way i wanted to for sure the USB Cable is a simply good way. I only like to keep my switch in the Dock hehe. :)

Thank you very much for your support.

OK now that we established you already know about USB installation and everyone else reading this can do it.

we can start talking to the next easier way.
I bet my super sweet PC that you already have tinfoil. that being said you can use NUT server

download from here

you need to make sure you connect your switch to the same wifi your computer/or mass storage device (where you have your games ) is also connected to the same network/wifi.

run tinfoil on your switch and run the pc sofware NUT.

its pretty much plug and play no need to open ports on router

there is also the tinfoil online store (paths keep changing cuz they keep getting hit by DMCA ) (also tinfoil data caps your downloads unless you pay "donate" forcefully )

Hello,

and thank you again your answer, i really appriciate. :)

Yes, NUT Server im also aware, used it till 2.7 without any issues. As i started now to move to Atmosphere i Updated to 3.3 found the Games on Tinfoil and for sure Marked them with Titel ID in NUT Server, but when i pressed install, i got the same Error message as with SMB.

Network Error 7 ; Code = 0

Have no Shop or something set in my Tinfoil, this was always quiet wired to me. :)

**But i also need to say, i always tried with XCi.

I've installed all of my Switch games in the last year or so with TinWoo, which has Wireless. I use nsloader on the PC. It has worked on several firmwares for me now including 12.1 without even having to update the app not sure about 13 though because I haven't updated to that yet.

Many Thanks for your support,

Im currently trying to use "https://github.com/TheyKilledKenny/PHPinfoil/blob/main/PHPinfoil.php" .. This looks really nice and its also easy working, but i have problems with the Folder..

On my NAS the Webserver is locked into NAS/Web/Index.php. (so in this folder i put aswell the .php file)

In this example its in "data/games", which works fine if your games are in the Folder NAS/Web/data/games/ .. but i would need to change the directory whats currently my problem.
The Games are stored in NAS/USBDisc2 .... So.. does anybody has an idea who to? :)

Was searching aleary on Google, but something like ../USBDisc2 .,. is not working :(

Code:
/****************************************
*        Configuration Parameters        *
****************************************/
$MOTD = "Wellcome to my personal NX Shop"; //Message that appears each time Tinfoil start and receive the file for the first time

// $Host = "http://192.168.178.7:8888/";                        //Base http name, if the games are in http://1.2.3.4:8080/games/mygames.nsp
$Host = $_SERVER['HOST'];
                                                    // then put here http://1.2.3.4:8080/
$rootFolder = $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] . "/"; //The base path to use to browse files and create cache, at the moment must be a folder reachable by http client
$Folder = "data/games"; //Where the games file are stored, can contain subfolders
$cacheFolder = "cache/"; //the cache Folder where to store the cache file. MUST Have write permission
$cacheFile = "cache"; //the cached file. MUST Have write permission
$arrExtensions = ['nsp','xci','nsz', 'xcz'];        //which extensions to list
$DBI = true; //if true then output in html to be compatible with DBI installer
$BackColor = "#000000";                                //Page Background Color
$ForeColor = "#cccccc";                                //Text Color
$AltRowColor = "#222222";                            //File list alternate row color
