Atelier Ryza 2 DLC Problem

I've put over 100 hours into Atelier Ryza 2 and I love that game. New DLC was just released a bit ago that I wanted to play, thanks to African for uploading that, btw. However, much of the DLC I downloaded from that thread crashes the game before the Title Screen can load. I've updated to 1.0.6, and I've spent the last 6 or so hours painstakingly chronicling which ones work and which ones don't. I'm not sure what's going on; I've never had this problem with DLC before.

I just deleted the software and save data form the Switch using system settings, and reinstalled the base game and 1.0.6 update with Goldleaf 0.9. I installed only one DLC to check to see if it would work at all and it still crashes.

I'm on FW 11.0.1 AMS 18.1 and using Goldleaf 0.9. I've never had an issue installing anything with this setup, and I still don't, but the game crashes before getting to the Title Screen when I install certain DLC.

Please, useful help would be appreciated; this just doesn't want to work and I've been at this for some time.

Below is a list of my findings for this DLC:

The first two digits are the last two Hex values on the DLC files, the three-digit number afterward is what's listed in Goldleaf when you look under "Manage console contents" and "SD card" for Ryza 2. As you can see, some work and some do not. I spent many hours on this trying to find a pattern that I could not.

When updated versions of DLC was available, only the newest file would work, which makes sense - although sometimes they crashed anyway. Once I recognized that pattern I stopped trying certain older DLC since it was a moot point.

When not listed, I usually tried older versions of DLC to see if they wouldn't crash when the new ones would, but they would also crash. This is bad because I simply can't access certain DLC on the newest version which loading my save files require.

Please help.

What is this one DLC ?
Post me his titleID, to post you patched one and see if works

There are a lot of them that don't let it load, but the one I tested with first this time was the "Summer Fashion Costume Set", which was the first one released. The TitleID is 01009A90120230CC.

Try this patched one

You tested it alone with base game + update 1.0.6 ?
Yes, I did test it with the base game, update 1.0.6 and that particular DLC alone. Whatever you did to that file didn't let it boot properly. It still crashes after hanging before loading the Title Screen.

Yesterday I tried the same thing with Yuzu and, while the Yuzu emulator does not get past the Title Screen in Ryza 2, it does get TO the Title Screen and I was able to get that far in Yuzu with the 01009A90120230CC DLC installed. Honestly, my best guess right now is somehow Atmosphere 18.1 doesn't like this new DLC. Can you think of anything else?

Edit: Okay, so I just uninstalled everything Ryza 2 (tickets included) and reset the launch version. Then I installed the base game and update 1.0.5 again, and the DLC (from the exact files I had working with 1.0.5 before I updated the DLC) that was working on version 1.0.5. It still crashes. Clearly there's some sort of left over borked something on here for just this game. Any ideas?

Do using fresh save + installing only the base game + update 1.0.6 + only this patched dlc https://send.cm/c0qyvmqigf59
Make the game crash for you ?
Correct, this is what I already did. I just tried it again with the file you linked again, however. Same issue.

To clarify, I deleted all data I could delete in system settings for Ryza 2 - the game and my save data. I then installed the base game, update 1.0.6 and just the DLC you posted here. It freezes and crashes before getting to the title screen.

Like I said, there has GOT to be a way to actually remove all traces of just one game from my system, since something is screwing this up that we have no metric for tracking. Is there even one instance of a similar problem?

I just hope this isn't a hint at a larger issue somehow, but for this game I could just use the PC version that runs better anyway for an eventual second playthrough. There are plenty of other games to play right now, it's just that leaving this in this state is really bothersome.

I tried base + update 1.0.6 + 1 dlc file
Worked for me
Only this game freeze and crashes for you ?

Correct, only this game. Like I said in the earlier thread, I downloaded the DLC when you had just put the the 1.0.5 update up, then I saw that you had changed the thread name to 1.0.6, so I hadn't installed 1.0.6 at the time. There might have been some muckery with trying to run it at 1.0.5 with DLC for 1.0.6, but I'm not sure how that would still mess with it when I have the 1.0.6 update now. Nor do I know how to purge whatever leftover nonsense is now breaking this, especially since deleting the software does not seem to be sufficient.

Again, if there is a way to purge everything about this software without screwing up my setup then I'd love to know it.

Well even if you uninstall and delete the savedata on your system using the regular Horizon options some traces for the game might still remain, that is why when you reinstall the game without updating it to the version you had before you uninstalled it the switch will know and ask you to update your game to that version, back in the day there was a DevMenu tool that eliminated all the traces, I believe Goldleaf can also do it but I am not sure of it.

Also did you try to install the game/update/dlc using a different installer like tinfoil or something like it?

Just a though but your download file or SD Card could also be corrupt. The switch itself have a option to check corrupt data.

Okay, so just to check off improper DLC download and SD card corruption I did some more trying today. I installed to the system NAND with a freshly downloaded DLC pack and I got the same crash at loading.

As far as I can tell, the only likely possibility left is Atmosphere 18.1. Perhaps when I update in the future this just goes away?

Okay, while this problem is not solved, I'm rather certain now that it simply can't be. I've updated to 12.1.0 and Atmosphere 19.5, deleted the game and did a full re-install of the latest everything relating to this game, and it crashes while loading, just like it did before. Okay, so I guess if you install something in the improper order once then it's just forever broken. Great. Oh well. I got enough time out of this game, I guess.
