Another great upload and another reason why i dont miss my 60gb ps3!

I don't think I'll ever get rid of my 60 GB NTSC launch PS3.

It essentially has a built in PS2 console (EE+GS) capable of digital output of the framebuffer via HDMI and smoothing options similar to what a mCable Gaming Edition outputs and almost 100% compatibility. Also ISO loading via Cobra CFW like Rebug.

i had a leaded solder ps3 60 gig with ferrox a few months ago and it was great too but someone made me a cash offer i couldnt refuse... maybe later on i will reconsider buying a new one if gradius v and baldurs gate arent possible on ps2 to ps4.

I absolutely loved my PAL launch 60GB, CECH03, only "half" a PS2 inside but it still ran 90% of the everything I threw at it. Amazing system that lasted me years, until it eventually YLoD on me :( I sent it to a dude who claimed to reball but it turned out he actually only reFLOWed instead, and it died again a week later.

I still have it, don't have the heart to throw it away :(

unless you have a leaded soldered ps3 your ps3 is guaranteed to overheat and i didnt want to live in fear like with every other 80 and 60 gb ps3 that that i owned before it

... i had to set the fan speed higher and you could hear it from another room in the house too...it was just too much to worry about. id rather get a modded fat ps2 next and not worry about thermal paste on the gpu cpu of the ps3 and removing heat spreader plates to reapply new paste etc etc etc...it was just a head ache... psx emulation wasnt 100% either.. i hear its more accurate on ps2 since it has the actual hardware for ps1 unlike ps3...maybe im wrong about that.

good luck to Eijis ps3...but you always get someone who says '' ive had my ps3 for 100 years and never ever had a single issue with it ever!!!!! it was always at a cool 40 degrees even while playing ps3 games and the thermal paste is still as wet as when i first bought it!!!!!'' so for those people... congrats and for the rest of us...ps4 and modded ps2 will be just fine.

Actually, even a lead reballed PS3 can YLOD. The issue is heat which causes the board to warp which then causes even the lead balls to crack. That's why pretty much all reball places only give 1-3 months guarantee for the reball.

Mine hasn't been reballed and is nearly 12 years old. I've done some air flow mods to it so it never goes above 50c on the Cell or RSX.

It's inevitable that at some point it will cease to work, like all electronics. Still doesn't mean I'll get rid of it ;)

I still have my fat PS2 too but it's boxed up.
