Sure, it works perfectly from the user guide once you've setup DNS to a exploit host. You can use the public Al Azif DNS servers to get to one of the latest exploit host pages with HEN Vortex 1.7 and over payloads. Alternatively you can also open the URL of a exploit host page in the web browser of your PS4 and run it there. That should also work.

You cannot avoid the kernel panics that happen sometimes. It will simply crash from time to time. It is normal and cannot be fixed unless a better exploit is found or a method to prevent kernel panic when running the exploit payload injection into the kernel.
