5.05 bit dissapointed

Hello guys,

I’ve just purchased a PS4 Pro that can play fake games direct from the internal HD. Sorry I’m no expert but it looks like it does it by using and external usb dongle thing, I think it’s a usb WiFi card as I have to connect to it before I can play the games on the HD. All is good and it works as advertised however I’m a bit dissapointed as I cannot play my original GT Sport online or have access to PSN etc as I get messages saying I have to update to the latest firmware (5.55). I’m on 5.05 at the moment. I assume if I update to 5.55 I can kiss goodbye to the fake games. So my question is - is there any option here or must I chose between fake games or upgrade and have network access for playing online games?

Sony has made it quite apparent that if you want to connect to their online service you have to be running a system with their latest firmware or have it spoofed, but I'm pretty sure the latter won't be available until CFW is released or the 5.5x exploit goes public.
 
Would it be possible to swap internal hard drives- let’s say one with 5.05 for fake games and then insert another will fully updated 5.55 for online play original games etc???
 
lmao 5.05 or any older exploited versions cannot go online yet and probably won't but who knows what might happen in the future as for 5.55 that kexploit is only going to be released to the public when it's outdated so when it can no longer go online (if they ever release it) because the devs are not trying to ruin the online they most likely don't want the ps4 to become what ps3 did or just keeping online away... with the community we have nowadays you can't trust these new skids with the exploit online only thing i seen close to online on 5.05 is LAN with people on different WiFis from what this dev posted on discord (could be 2 ps4s on same wifi) if you never knew 5.05 couldn't go online then you shouldn't of wasted your money on it thinking online would work lol
 
Yep that was another option, thanks. I may just abandon the fake games all together in favour of online play and the latest update. I reckon some of the games are totally worth the asking price anyway.
 
For the price of a second PS4 I could probably get around 20-30 original games if I shopped around and bought second hand. I weighed the options up and for me this makes more sense and less hassle with having to fuk about with custom firmware etc for new game releases. Sony and the game devs know your missing out by not having online/network services available.
 
You could download the fpkg for those games or some whatever ones they have for your exploited ps4 and then get a 2nd one to play online but if you want those games on the same console for online play not offline then you might aswell update your ps4 but you won't be able to use the exploit until a newer one is released
 
Just my 2cents,
Buy more than one system, simple. I have a slim that is on 5.05, then got the god of war on 5.05 with a 8tb external, and going to pick up a regular ps4 used for the "online" games like dark souls remastered.
It's worth it buying a second one used just to go online. They are getting cheap now.
