Guessing none of you will know this but worth a shot... im still trying to get my save games onto my new 2TB hdd... using the backup option in the jailbreak is a bag of crap and dont work at all.

so... ive got a caddy/hdd duplicator and cloned the hdd to my 2tb... works perfectly... but the user partition on the new 2tb is showing still as 480gb so i need to expand this to use the free space thats sat on the end of the drive using MiniTool partition in windows

Does anyone know the partition types playstation use, because the tools that im using wont allow me to resize the partition which is a ball ache

told you it wasnt an easy one.

The partition is enrypted as far as I know. So I don't think it's possible to expand the partition.

@Plato is absolutely right. The hard drive inside the PlayStation 4 gets encrypted when it gets formatted and partitioned.

There is a way to get the decryption keys for it though from the console. That said I don't know if you can decrypt it, resize it, encrypt it again and have the PS4 recognize it properly.

I never heard so far of anyone doing this. Most of the time people take backups and simply do a reinstall.

fair play, thank for answering. But the thing is when i do a backup on HDD1 (original 500gb) and then put in a new HDD2 (2tb) when i do the restore i get a db error, the ps4 reboots and everything is gone?!?!?!?!? i have done backup after backup after backup so i know the data is good.

Has anyone got an absolute step by step guide on this? as im on day 4 now and cant google any more.

or anyone know why im getting this DB error?
always when i copy the DB_Dackup folder to system_data\priv\mms\
do i have to do something with the usernames? or the newly created "user1" on the new HDD2?
