So I'm in a little dilemma with spider-man for ps4 being released in a few days. It was my most anticipated game for this year and I wanted to know what the odds are of it being patched to work with 5.05 exploit. I've been debating on actually updating my ps4 to buy and play it. I also don't see a new 5.55 exploit coming out anytime in the near feature since we just got 5.56 yesterday. Is this a possibility or is it wishful thinking? Thanks in advance guys.

If you really want to play this game you have no other choice that update, or buy another ps4...

Thanks for the replies, so it's wishful thinking I guess. I'm Definitely not buying another ps4 so I guess I'll just make my decision when the game comes out. Maybe someone will find out a way to do this in the future.

I dont think it will be that long for 5.55 to come out. I believe they are just waiting for sony to upgrade to 6.0 before the release which should be someti,e next month. But the longer the delay to 6.0 the better because that means we will be able to add more games to 5.55 such as spiderman, i know madden 19 will work on 5.55 that was released in aug i just hope nhl 19 will be released on 5.55 firmware as well because that game is coming out in 2 weeks

I don't have any faith in the 5.55 exploit coming out anytime soon. I am hopeful though that one of the devs figure out a way to spoof the firmware so we can play newer games.

Well then, update your PS4 for the opportunity to play 20h of Spider-Man campaign.

And don't raise your hopes up for 6.0 release. Maybe the exploit found in 5.55 isn't patched in 6.0, so it won't be released. Who knows

Thanks for the responses guys! So I've been doing a little more research on the whole jailbreaking scene and I came across some very interesting and optimistic news. After doing my research and digging deep, I could confidently say that the ps4 is on the verge of being fully jailbroken. Devs are on the verge of fully manipulating SAMU which deals with the security aspect of the ps4. Now it's no longer a matter if they can or can't jailbreak but a matter of when. Cheers!
