So i have a 4Tb hdd that is for movies and stuff, I wanted to install RDR2 but I can't since the game is around 120 Gigs while I have a 64 gig usb, so I was wondering if I can use my 4tb hdd (which has stuff other than pkg such as movies) to install pkg games, or do I need to fully empty it in order to install pkg files?

Only way for you to install games directly from your hdd is to install pkgs remotely. You can find a tutorial on MODDED WARFARE's yt channel.

but don't these usually take longer time, like way longer? since its up to your internet speed

As you said, it depends on how fast your internet is. If you have a fast connection, remotely installing can even be quicker than the hard disk installing. I assume that you are talking about hdd in your pc, and not the external hard disk that connects via usb. If its your internal hdd, then your only option is to install games remotely, and you can speed up that process by making a network bridge (check out MODDED WARFARE's video Improving the speed of Remote Package Installer). If you have an external hard disk that connects via usb, then you just need to put the pkg files in the root of the hard disk, no extra folders. Also make sure that it is in exFAT format, since NTFS doesn't work on PS4, and FAT32 has a max file size of 4gb.

Oh im so sorry what i meant by HDD was an EXTERNAL Hdd, I'm so dumb. But we go back, Do i need to wipe out my whole external hdd in order to install pkg files or is it okay to have other files (Files not for PS4) that was my main concern

You can copy the FPKG files to your external HDD, connect it to your PlayStation 4 and install the FPKG files via package installer BUT the HDD needs to be formatted to ExFAT filesystem or otherwise the PlayStation will not recognize it.

Furthermore the FPKG files all have to be in root of the HDD and not in any folder or sub folder. If they're in a folder the package installer will not detect them.

When you format your HDD you will lose all files on it. So before you do that backup your files to another storage media. After you formatted it to ExFAT you can copy your files back.
