I have a nintendo switch with the software version 9.0.0 and i got sx os version 2.9 installed on my sd card. Now I've been able to play for a few months with this no problem. After a while i sometimes got an error while trying to boot the switch up saying 'An error has occured' ,but if i tried it a second time it still worked so i ignored this.

But now i tried booting it up and it only gives me a black screen. When i try to boot it up in the normal way it still works fine. But if i try to boot it up with the sx os way it only gives me a black screen.

So I was asking if someone knows a way to fix this problem for me?

Thanks in advance for helping me

Try reloading the boot.dat. I have that issue before and doing that works for me.

Do you mean replacing the boot.dat file or something else?

your problem is that sx wont boot.
i feel there is something you dont know about or failed to inform.

so many things to check on. simple and hard
lets do simple.
1) is your SD card inside your switch ?
2) are the sx os files in your sd card ? if so your best bet is to download sx os again and replace the boot.dat file in your sd card.
3) FAT32 is the recommended file system. if you are on exFAT now will be the time to use fat32 (backup your game save data first)
4) if you have recently updated to firmware 10.x.x.x you definetly need the latest sx os 2.9.5 BETA

Hey i updated my sx os from 2.9 to 2.9.2 and that seemed to work thanks for the help everyone.

A month later and my switch again wont boot up.
Updating the software didn't work this time.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could do?

So you're saying I should install a different software?

I read the post you were referring to above this reply.

Just a little more information I cracked the Switch for my nephews and dont use it for myself. Since they were young i thought the sx os dongle would be the simplest way for them to use the Switch. They are about 12 years old, so if you're saying they can understand other cfw softwares I would be happy to hear so.

Your problem is that someone keeps deleting/removing/misplacing sx os files in your SD card. as long as that person keeps doing so you will continue to have the same issue.

in order to fix your issue you need to re download and replace all sx os files. except the license.dat (that one can stay in your sd card without replacing.

if you updated firmware and have not updated the boot file inside your dongle then thats your problem

So I did what you said and my Switch still won't boot up with cfw software. It can only boot up the normal way.

Do you think my dongle is broken or something like that?

Okay coming back to this. It's gonna sound really dumb but I just found out the dongle has some kind of battery life I think. I always used this to boot it up never used autoRCM. I dont remember when buying the dongle that there came a charger with it. Did i somehow lose this charger and is my dongle just emptry at the moment. Is this the reason why it is not working?

And if so do I and where do I purchase a charger for my sx os dongle?
