Hi guys.
I hope I can ask for help in this section?
If it's the wrong section I apologize.
Today I decided that I wanted to try and update my atmosphere so that I could eventually upgrade my switch to firmware 9.x (I'm currently on 8.1.0).
After trying to simply overwrite my sd card files and not having success I restored the old files which I had backed up on my desktop.
At this point every game I had on my 512GB samsung evo SD was still working perfectly.
All my NSP are installed through Goldleaf and the majority of them were found on this forum.
Since I had a small 64 SD card sitting around I decided to try a different approach and copy my main SD onto this smaller one, so that I could try and update everything here first.
Again I had no success.
At this point though, when I reinserted my main 512SD card in the switch and injected the old payload (hekate 5.0.1) which had always worked like a charm, I started having the first issues:
at first homebrew would tell me that the folder /switch didn't exist. I fiddled with it for a few hours until I renamed the switch folder in the SD, the system recreated a switch folder automatically, and I was therefore able to move all the original files into the new folder which I could now see through homebrew.
Unfortunately though, none of my NSP files installed through goldleaf work anymore. the only game I'm able to play is the Witcher, which I converted into NSP from XCI myself using 4nxci.
I'm on a Mac MACOS10.14.

Any Idea what might have happened? Help? O.o

EDIT: all my SD are formatted in exFat, I never used Fat32 ever since I started using atmosphere. Also I never changed the SD, it's always been the 512GB I'm using now. I did NOT remove or change anything on it when it stopped working, I simply copied it onto another SD card and safely removed it from my Mac.

Sounds like you are coming from a fat32 to a exfat
Convert the sdcard format to the same as before

I didn't change anything on the 512SD card. it was working, and it isn't anymore.
It is exfat, ever since I got the switch it has always been exfat. I never used fat32.

Dont worry pal this is just a clear example of someone updating the wrong way. it could happen to anyone really as there is a specific way to do it.

I just happen to be making a guide to update to 10.0.2 firmware and i have some files. let me upload them. . . all you will need to do is replace them in your SD card

@Hellfreak I can help you with both firmware 9..x.x but i highly recommend updating to 10.0.2 since most game updates require it.

go here and download your firmware

Thanks I’m gonna try it but so far i figured that my main problem was using a mac. Updating atmosphere using windows went just fine. The problem now is that the switch says i have to redownload all the games because it doesn’t recognize the copy pasted content folder i think. I am still running firmware 8.1.0 for now

Followed your guide, now my switch is updated to firmware 10.0.2 and all my nsps work again!
Dude, really thank you so much! You rock!

EDIT: to start the switch with hekate I had to download the package from sdsetup, with your package it wouldn't boot properly.
one thing that I can't find is the USB installation option in the new Goldleaf 0.8 so I reverted to the one I was using before which seems to work (0.5) am I gonna have a lot of problems with this version of Goldleaf?
thanks for your answers!!

I will not recommend hekate any more as is bound to continue having issues as team atlasnx has disbanded.
gold leaf 0.8 should work just fine if you are using java 14 or later. it should also work just fine if you boot into vanilla Atmosphere.

If you insist on using Hekate and gold leaf gives you issues go ahead and get Awoo installer with USB loader they do the exact same thing gold leaf does.
