So here's the situation, I do not use a VPN at the moment simply because I cannot afford it. I know it's not the smartest move but it's simply out of my budget right now. The other day I got the generic "dear user"copyright claim. not going to lie it's got me pretty spooked. I noticed that the file they specified was a torrent, that prompted me to wonder if direct links like Google or zippy we're safer than Torrents? Is it safe enough for me to continue downloading that way?

https:// websites are encrypted between your computer and the remote server
Google Drive / Zippyshare are safer, your ISP only know that you visite zippyshare.com / drive.google.com (only the domain name)
They can't know the reste of url https://drive.google.com/xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

First of all thank you for the response. The second of all I'm sorry for posting in the wrong place. even though my ISP wouldn't be able to see the exact URL that I'm visiting couldn't they still see the the file downloaded over my network?
