Game regions

Hi guys,

I'm new to the community and still trying to figure things out. I am having trouble understanding why the regions are listed for PS4 games here. As far as I know the PS4 is not locked to any region so I should be able to play any game from anywhere, but when I look at the posts here every game has its region specified. Can someone explain the reason? I'm obviously missing something.

Languages meaning there are available language on a specific region that the other region doesn't have and vice versa.
EUR for example has Russian/German/etc.. language which US/PAL doesn't have.

Saves and updates are tied to the CUSA version.

So if I need an update it has to be the same region as the game, that makes sense. And for saves I assume that only matters if I am downloading someone elses save? Any save i make myself will be in the region relative the version of my game and so be irrelevant, correct?

Again, update HAS to be the same CUSA. You can't download someone else's save. Your saves should work with the same region, although again, they usually only work with the same CUSA.
