Hey people,
I wanted to ask if it exists something like App2USB but for the NAS cause on the PS3 I were able to install the games on an external drive over the network like my nas and play. Does this work here too cause couldnt find anything like that.

Remote PKG Installer with the FPKGs being stored on your NAS might work if the NAS has a public web server where the FPKGs are accessible to the Remote PKG Installer.

My NAS is able to host a web server and so. Could I do this by my own? Do u have any key points or advices where to start looking for? Im pretty new in the ps4 area.
I mean... this could resolve the space problems and the speed.
The ps4 has an Gigabit LAN and is way faster then over the USB2 LAN Ports with an external HDD.
Or do u know about projects in this direction?

Btw.. Ergo Proxy ftw

The PlayStation 4 has USB 3.0 Gen 1 (5 Gbit/s) ports and the PlayStation 4 Pro has USB 3.1 Gen 1 (also 5 Gbit/s). The internal HDD is connected by a SATA II for the normal PlayStation 4 and the Pro has SATA III however the internal bus for the SATA connectors runs over the very same USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 chipset thus limiting the speed anyway... Sony saving money anywhere they can. So if you have a USB 3.0/3.1 HDD you are faster than over LAN but as always... the speed ratings are "theoretical".

- You need to use HEN 1.8 as it includes support for remote PKG installation.
- You need the Remote PKG Installer app installed on your PS4.
- You need a Remote PKG Sender on your PC to send instructions to the Remote PKG Installer on the PS4.
- You have to somehow modify the Remote PKG Sender information so that it takes your NAS webserver to serve the files instead of using the included webserver from your PC.

The problem I have is that I never did this because I don't have a NAS nor a real Gigabit network. I use a 4 TB WD USB 3.1 HDD for my games and a quick 128 GB USB 3.1 Gen 2 Samsung USB thumb drive.

You can check a few videos on the general subject of Remote PKG Installation & Sending:

The problem I see in this is that all of this sending of the remote PKGs always happens from the PC where the PKG sender is running from. It seems you cannot specify an external web server like your NAS. No idea how to bypass that. Maybe some files can be modified to do that. I really don't have a clue.

Oh the ps4 has usb3? ok.. I had could google it but I assumed that its only usb2 cause of the black ports and not blue and cause of the slow speed..
Anyway I have only a PS4 normal (1 of the first ones [CUH-1000A])

I will check this but first of all I have to inform me a bit more about the way the ps4 works in comparsion to the ps3 (Like why it exists retail PKG and what is the difference to the FakePKG...) And my problem of the black screen from time to time after the standby.. I disabled the HCPD, tried another cable and so on. Anyway this should be in another thread.

Ty for your quick answer.

Edit: As I can see in this Video, it could be a big improvement if using like an NAS as an external where to Install the games if it would work for this purpose too instead of only for the transfer

Colors of USB ports say nothing nowadays. New computers like for example my Lenovo X1 Yoga Carbon have USB 3.1 only mostly and all ports are black instead of blue. Some include yellow ports which is just a USB 3.1 port that provides more power (for charging phones for example). I have also seen red USB 3.1 ports.

Retail PKG is just the original game from Sony. It is encrypted and cannot be used on jailbreak consoles. You need the original game disc to play retail PKGs. FPKG is a fake PKG of the game. The game is decrypted and can be installed on jailbreak consoles through the package installer. FPKGs are basically backups of the games from the disc without encryption.

The black screen issue is most likely related to a faulty HDMI chip. A lot of older PS4 consoles have issues with it. A lot died and needed to be replaced. Also possible that the connector is bad or just the HDMI cable.

Take a look at this: https://ayakalounge.me/threads/download-install-pkgs-directly-to-your-ps4.4329/

Oh ty for the response about this questions too. The problem is... I hadnt this problems before. I noticed it only now.. Since I donwloaded the Firmware from https://[Site is blocked reason: advertising is not allowed]/#!/firmwares 5.05 . I were on 5.03.
It feels like a hanging ps4 because even if I hold the power button, doesnt happen anything. I have to unplug the power cable. And today even if I powered off my ps4, She got in the save mode to check the hardware / disk. Duno what happened to my ps4 cause I didnt used it for month.

This is a kernel panic that happens when executing the exploit sometimes. Nothing you can do against this. The PS4 basically crashes and won't start instantly. You have to wait a few minutes and then press the power button a few times. When it starts it boots into safemode to check memory and hard drive. After that it will boot back into normal PS4 OS.
