Michishio over Ayato (OC) 1.1

A few years ago, I participated in a competition in which we had to create an OC using parts of artwork from other Genshin Impact characters. Today I decided to make it real. So I share with you a long-term work in the company of Kokabiel and Anilyan! Thank you again for helping so much!

Below is the backstory I created for him. (It's quite cliché but I had no inspiration at the time...) Enjoy!

Michishio is a child of Inazuma, who lived a rather peaceful life in this beautiful country for years in the company of his parents.
Passionate about fishing, his parents taught him everything there was to know about this art, which explains his talent and passion for this pastime.

It was his father who bought him his very first fishing rod for his birthday. He was very attached to family values, for him his parents mattered more than anything in the world. But that was without taking into account the event that would turn his life and his beliefs upside down.

One spring evening, Michishio, then 13 years old, was returning from fishing with his mother.
Eager to show his father everything he had caught, he hurried home, but he saw something that traumatized him for life.
His house was on fire, he heard his father's screams of agony, and all his dreams of a happy family were shattered in a matter of seconds. He didn't even have time to shed a tear before his mother disappeared into the nearby woods. Completely lost, disoriented, he looked for his mother and it was thus that he overheard a most compromising conversation between her and the Fatui, this organization which had managed to establish itself throughout Teyvat. “But what do they want from my mother?” Michishio said to himself, with a lump in his stomach. He was then preparing to try to help her, he who wanted to at least help his mother, save her but... However, his heart then broke into a thousand pieces.
He had understood everything by unwittingly spying on this sordid discussion. The truth is, all the wealth and possessions of the family came from the Fatui, and this carnage was one of their works. His mother had often borrowed money from the Fatuis, but she never repaid them. He felt his blood boiling in his veins, and his life was about to change completely from that moment on. As one of the Fatui offered to execute Michishio's mother to pay off her debts with her life, she begged for her life and made a cruelest request for a mother, thinking that Michishio was not there and would not hear : “Take my son, kill him in my place! He is my flesh after all, this should repay the damage I have done!” Michishio felt betrayed, and became angry, such rage that he had never experienced in his entire life. Determined, the sky gave him a gift that saved his life: a blue diamond fell into his palm in a great burst of light. The gods had just granted him a vision. Water gushed from the fishing rod he had never let go of, and he was able to eliminate all the Fatui who wanted his life, as well as that of his mother. The latter, after the battle, took her son in her arms, not knowing that he had heard everything, whether it was the threats, her schemes and the fact that she wanted to sell him to save her miserable life. Michishio, completely broken, pushed her away and said in a cold voice, as cold as the Dragonspine blizzard: "I saved you the way you wanted, so now I only ask one thing of you. Return the favor, disappear from my life, and forget about me."

He returned to his charred house to try to find his father, but it was already far too late. The house ended up reduced to ashes, and his father's body suffered the same fate. He still searched among the rubble, but nothing. It was only then that he allowed himself to mourn the death of his father and mentor, in front of the particles of wood that flew away in the wind and with the smell of burning that filled his nostrils, painfully reminding him how real that night was. Since then, to try to forget his suffering, Michishio wanders throughout Teyvat to explore the world, enrich his culture and catch the biggest fish possible in memory of his father who died in this tragic fire.
